Alto Spots

Walk around the Lesser Quarter

Visit the must-sees, including Prague Castle, Charles Bridge and St. Nicolas Church. Or take a walk and simply enjoy the ambience of the narrow winding streets.

Explore the historical palaces

The picturesque Neruda street is framed by historical palaces, churches and an array of antique shops. Worth exploring on your way to Prague Castle.

Morning jogging in the Petrin Gardens

There is nothing better than to take in the fresh air and head towards the lookout tower. Enjoy breakfast with a panoramic view of Prague.

Leave a message to the world on the Lennon wall

Dedicated to the memory of John Lennon, this wall became a symbol of freedom during the communist era. Today dreamers of the world decorate the wall with their messages.

Explore the city’s house signs

Literally outside your doorstep lies the legendary heart of the old Prague. Take a walk around the Jewish quarter and look for the intricate house signs above the doorways.

Get your afternoon sugar fix from Cukrkavalimonada

This renaissance-styled French patisserie offers a mouth-watering selection of homemade cakes, cupcakes and pancakes. Try the savory cheesecake or the organic smoothie.

Xiaoling Liao

The Sax boutique hotel is located in one of those (few) calm streets of the Lesser Quarter. Those who want to enjoy the spirit of the historical Prague in peace will love this spot with soothing retro interiors and imaginative décor. Although the hotel is not in the most buzzing part of the town, restaurants and chic cafés are just around the corner. Families will love the 70’s design with its core motifs, including colorful furniture and whimsical wallpapers.

It is a lot of fun to browse through the boutique hotel and look for authentic and peculiar objects, such as lamps, clocks, or historical posters and others – all handpicked by the owner, a passionate art-collector. The New Vintage offers a sneak peek at how Praguer lived in the 70’s.
