Alto Spots

Explore the Lesser Quarter

Visit the must-sees, including Prague Castle, Charles Bridge and St. Nicolas Church. Or take a walk and simply enjoy the ambience of the narrow winding streets.

View from the top of Petrin

Walk through the greens of the Petrin gardens towards the lookout tower. It takes 299 steps to reach the top, but the magnificent view is worth the effort.

Admire the statues on Charles Bridge

Evenings are the best time to visit the 1357 Charles Bridge, framed by 30 baroque-styled statues. Legend says that egg yolks were added to the construction to strengthen the bridge.

Fine dining at Kampa Park

Enjoy dinner at this lavish restaurant known among the locals for a unique combination of riverside views, a gourmet menu and authentic Czech wine.

An ice-cream treat at Amorino

A perfect place to unwind after a long walk around the Lesser Quarter, Amorino serves one of the best gelatos in town. Try a scoop of chocolate gelato or the detox mixes.

Pick a read at Shakespeare and Sons

This is the locals’ favourite English bookstore and the café is the perfect place for book-lovers. If you are lucky enough, you can enjoy a concert at the cellar.

Xiaoling Liao

The Topview Retro, located a stone’s throw away from the Prague Castle, lies in my favorite part of the Lesser Quarter, well-hidden from the overcrowded touristy streets. Families and couples will love the calm and charming surroundings between the historical palaces and the greens of Prague’s largest city-park. Housed in the retro-themed Sax Hotel, this hotel suite reminds guests of the 70’s funky era.

The Czech designers Nadi Sádovská and Jaromír Pitzinger turned the interiors into a melting pot with authentic décor, pop-arty wallpapers and plenty of peculiar objects, personally handpicked by the owner, a passionate art-collector. The room might be quite small for some, but is airy enough with plenty of natural light.
