Rising Demand for Pet-Friendly Corporate Stays: A Shift Toward Inclusive Travel

In today's evolving travel landscape, flexibility, inclusivity, and personal comfort are becoming top priorities - especially for long-term stays. One trend rapidly rising in the corporate accommodation space is pet-friendly accommodation, which also extends to accessibility, when it comes to service dogs. This rise in pet-friendly accommodation demand by employees is reshaping how companies think about extended travel, relocation and employee satisfaction.

The Rise of Pet-Friendly Accommodation

With more professionals embarking on extended business trips or relocating temporarily, bringing pets along is becoming not just a preference but a priority. In fact, the global pet travel services market is expected to reach $4.6 billion by 2032, highlighting just how significant this shift has become.

What Type of Services Do Pet-Friendly Accommodations Offer?

Forward-thinking accommodation providers are responding to the market demand by not only allowing pets to stay in the properties but also offering appropriate services. This includes dog-washing stations, dedicated play areas and in-room pet amenities.

Some high-end corporate accommodation providers have even introduced optional add-ons, like pet-sitting and dog-walking services.

Demand for Pet-Friendly Properties in US & Canada

Our research shows that pet-friendly requests have been steadily increasing. Data comparing pet-friendly requests between 2023 and 2024 have shown a 9.82% increase in the US and a 14.81% increase in Canada. This trend has been consistent with data from the first quarter of 2025 and the forecast for Q2 suggests even greater demand.

Why Companies Should Gear Towards Pet-Friendly Offerings

For corporations, supporting pet-friendly accommodation can enhance employee satisfaction, boost productivity while travelling, and align with flexible mobility strategies - particularly in North America where demand is surging.

Pet-friendly Requests and Accessibility Accommodating Service Dogs

Accessibility-focused accommodation also remains a niche but expanding market. As corporate travel policies increasingly emphasise inclusivity, there is a growing need for properties that cater to travellers with disabilities, including those accompanied by service animals.

‘Demand in accessibility-focused accommodation is relatively minimal with our clients,’ says Amy Mitchell, National Account Executive from Travelers Haven.

While investment in fully accessible corporate accommodation is still limited, demand is rising for features like step-free access, adaptive room designs and service animal-friendly policies. Properties prioritising these offerings will gain a competitive edge in attracting a broader range of corporate clients.

The Future of Pet-Friendly and Inclusive Stays

The rise in pet-friendly and accessible accommodation is more than a passing trend—it reflects a larger shift toward employee-centred travel experiences. As remote and hybrid work continues to blur the lines between business and lifestyle, providing travel solutions that honour personal comfort and inclusivity will set companies apart.

Accommodation providers who embrace these trends now are likely to attract more corporate clients and maintain long-term guest satisfaction.
